Privacy Policy

Last updated: 23 June 2026

Short version: Your food diary stays on your device. Savor has no accounts, no analytics, no tracking, and no ads. The only data that leaves your phone is the food name or barcode you look up, sent to public nutrition databases to fetch nutrition facts, and the photo, text, or weekly summary you submit to an AI service for recognition. These are one-way requests with no diary history or personal identifiers attached.

Savor ("the app") is a calorie and nutrition tracker published by Clearpoint Studios. This policy explains exactly what the app does and does not do with information.

Data we collect

None about you personally. Savor has no user accounts and no login. We do not collect, transmit, or sell your personal information, and we run no analytics or tracking. The only times data leaves your device are the food lookups, AI features, and purchase validation described below.

Data stored on your device

Your food diary, weight, water, settings, and statistics are stored locally on your device only. This data never leaves your phone unless you choose to export or share it. Uninstalling the app removes this data.

Camera and barcode scanning

With your permission, Savor uses the camera to scan barcodes and to capture photos of meals or nutrition labels. Barcode scanning is processed on your device; the resulting barcode is then looked up as described under Food lookups. Photos captured for recognition are covered under AI features below.

AI features

Savor's AI features (photo meal recognition, nutrition-label scanning, typed or dictated meal descriptions, and the optional weekly coach summary) send the relevant input - a photo, your text, or aggregated weekly nutrition statistics - to Google's Gemini AI for analysis. These requests pass through a relay service we operate solely to forward them and apply usage limits; neither the relay nor Google retains the content after the analysis, and it is never used to train models or for any other purpose. No diary history or personal identifiers are attached. See Google's privacy policy.

Microphone

If you dictate a meal description, Savor uses your device's built-in speech recognition to convert speech to text. Audio handling is performed by your device's operating system; Savor itself never records, stores, or uploads any audio. Only the resulting text is sent to the AI service described above.

Health Connect

With your permission, Savor can read activity and body data from Google Health Connect to refine your daily numbers. It reads exactly three data types, all read-only (Savor never writes to Health Connect): steps and active calories burned, used to adjust your remaining calorie budget, and weight, used to keep your weight log in sync. This connection is optional and off by default: Savor only accesses Health Connect after you explicitly turn the sync on in Settings, and you can revoke access at any time from within Health Connect or by turning the sync off. Data read from Health Connect is processed entirely on your device and never leaves it. It is not sent to our servers, not sent to the AI service, never used for advertising, and never shared with third parties. Uninstalling the app or disabling the sync stops all access.

Food lookups (Open Food Facts and USDA)

When you search for a food or scan a barcode, Savor sends that search term or barcode to public nutrition databases - Open Food Facts and the U.S. Department of Agriculture's FoodData Central - to retrieve nutrition information. Only the query is sent, never your diary or personal data. These are independent third parties, each with its own privacy policy (see the Open Food Facts policy).

Notifications

Savor can send local reminders (for example, to log a meal). These are scheduled and delivered entirely on your device. No notification content is sent to or through us.

Exporting and sharing

You can export your data and share it using your device's share sheet. This action is initiated by you, and you alone decide where the file goes. We never receive a copy.

Analytics, tracking, and advertising

There are none. Savor contains no third-party analytics, no advertising SDKs, and no tracking of any kind.

Purchases

Savor Pro is a one-time purchase processed by the Google Play Store. To unlock and restore your purchase, the app uses RevenueCat, which receives a purchase token and an anonymous device identifier to confirm your entitlement. It does not receive your diary or payment details. See the RevenueCat and Google privacy policies.

Children

Savor is a general-audience wellness app and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

Data retention

Your food diary, weight, water, settings, and statistics are kept on your device for as long as the app is installed. They are removed as soon as you uninstall the app or clear them from within the app. We never receive a copy, so there is nothing for us to retain. Savor has no user accounts and runs no server that stores your diary, so there is no server-side diary data for us to keep. The one-way requests described above are not retained: AI inputs (photos, text, or weekly summaries) are processed and then discarded after analysis, and food lookups send only the search term or barcode to the public nutrition databases. Any data read from Health Connect stays on your device and is removed with the app. The only information a third party holds is the anonymous purchase token RevenueCat uses to confirm Savor Pro.
