Under the hood

Photo logging that
actually works.

Most calorie apps make you search through long lists and guess portion sizes by eye. Savor works differently. Point your camera at a meal, a plate of leftovers, or a home-cooked bowl, and the AI identifies what is there and gives you a calorie and macro estimate straight away. The estimate is exactly that, an estimate, not a guarantee, but it gets you close without the typing.

On-device camera input

Your photo is processed by the AI and discarded. It is never uploaded to our servers or stored anywhere after the analysis runs.

Calories, protein, carbs, fat

Each logged item shows the full macro breakdown, not just a calorie number. Your daily totals update in real time.

Barcode scanner for packaged foods

Scan any barcode and Savor pulls nutrition facts from the Open Food Facts database. Exact numbers from the label, not an estimate.

Text search as a fallback

Not every food photographs well. The search box reaches the same database, so you can type and pick when a scan or photo is easier that way.

Built for the long run

A tracker that stays out of your way.

Macros

Protein, carbs, fat at a glance

Every meal entry breaks down into all three macros. Your daily overview shows totals and targets in a calm, readable layout so you can see your balance without digging through menus.

Food diary

Your full day, in one view

All your logged meals sit together in a clear daily list. Edit portions, remove entries, or add a quick note. Weekly and monthly trends give you a longer picture without overwhelming you with charts.

Privacy

Your diary stays on your phone

There is no Savor account and no server that holds your data. Your food diary, weight entries, and settings are stored locally on your device only. Uninstalling the app removes them entirely.

The idea

Why Savor?

Most calorie apps either overwhelm you with data or hide the numbers behind paywalls, ads, and mandatory accounts. Savor is built on the opposite premise: logging should take seconds, your data should be yours, and the core tracker should be free.

Photo logging closes the gap

The hardest part of tracking is restaurant meals and home cooking where there is no barcode and no easy database entry. A photo gives you a starting estimate you can refine, which is far better than skipping the entry altogether.

No account, no cloud, no catch

Your diary is personal. Savor keeps it on your device and nowhere else. No sync to our servers, no analytics on what you eat, no subscription needed for the core features. You can export your own data whenever you want.

Three ways to log

Fast to log, however you track.

Each method is a first-class option. Pick the one that fits the meal in front of you.

1

Snap a photo

Open the camera, point it at your meal, and tap. The AI identifies food items and returns a calorie and macro estimate for the plate as a whole.

2

Scan a barcode

Point the scanner at any product barcode. Savor pulls exact nutrition facts from the Open Food Facts database. No typing, no guessing.

3

Search and pick

Type a food name and pick from the results. Works offline for cached entries, online for the full database. Adjust the serving size and save.

Good to know

Frequently asked questions

How accurate is the AI photo recognition?

AI photo recognition gives an estimate, not an exact figure. It performs well on common dishes and restaurant-style plates but will be less accurate for unusual or heavily mixed meals. The barcode scanner and text search give you exact numbers when you need them. For foods you eat regularly, you can log them once and reuse the entry.

Are my photos stored or uploaded?

No. When you snap a photo for meal recognition, the image is sent to the AI for analysis and then discarded. It is not stored on our servers, not linked to your account (there is no account), and not used for any other purpose. Your camera permission is used only when you actively tap the photo-log button.

Is Savor free?

Yes. The core calorie and macro tracker is free and ad-free. A one-time Pro upgrade unlocks additional features, but you do not need it to use the main app. There is no subscription.

Do I need an account?

No. Savor has no sign-up and no login. Your food diary is stored locally on your device. You do not need an account to use any feature of the app.

Where does the nutrition data come from?

Barcode scans and text searches use the Open Food Facts database, an open and independent nutrition database. When you scan or search, only the barcode or search term is sent to that service. Your diary is never shared.

Does Savor work offline?

Your diary, totals, and any locally cached food entries work fully offline. Barcode scanning and food search need a connection to reach the Open Food Facts database. AI photo recognition also requires a connection to run the analysis.

Can I export my data?

Yes. You can export your diary from the app and share it using your device's share sheet. The export file goes wherever you send it. Savor never receives a copy.

Does Savor collect analytics or track me?

No. Savor contains no third-party analytics, no advertising SDKs, and no tracking of any kind. The only data that leaves your phone is a barcode or food name sent to Open Food Facts during a search or scan, and a photo sent to the AI during photo logging. Both are one-way queries with no personal identifiers attached.
